Moravian Lovefeast Band Invite

Dear music makers! If you are in town for Christmas Eve this year, we invite you to play for our Moravian Love Feast service at 5:00 p.m. at Skyland UMC.

Here’s information about rehearsals and the service! Rehearsal: Sunday, December 15 at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, December 22 at 4:00 p.m. (Plan to come to at least one 60-90 minute rehearsal.)

Service: Tuesday, December 24 at 5:00 p.m. Band Members arrive at 3:45 p.m. Brief Practice from 3:45-4:30 p.m. Band Prelude at 4:30 p.m.

PB and J Club  (Pint Sized Believers in Jesus) – Sunday evenings from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for kids from Kindergarten – 5^TH Grade beginning September 8^TH and running through the school year.

About PB&J: Joy and a rotating team of helpers will be hosting this new program that will coincide with other Sunday evening programs. We’ll use our VBS-style of stations that will include Bible memorization, a faith lesson, games, and time for music each week with a gifted teacher and musician, Jaime Graeber! Given our name, we’ll have a snack bar with PB and J options sometime during our time together!

Cookie and Card Making:

Join us for our annual Cookie and Cardmaking event on Monday, December 23, 2024 from 9:00- 11:00 a.m. We will decorate cookies and cards for veterans living at Veterans Restoration Quarters in Swannanoa. We will also play some festive games and share a story of the season. All ages welcome, but for littles under the age of 4, we do ask that a grown-up stay with them. Reach out to Rev. Joy or the church office with questions!

Family Communion Service

At 3 p.m.   A Family friendly service to celebrate Advent and the Christmas story with holy communion provided. All ages welcome!

Moravian Lovefeast:

At 5 p.m. Our Moravian Lovefeast is a family affair that celebrates the birth of Jesus in traditional Moravian style, complete with coffee, sweet buns, and a chancel full of woodwind and brass musicians.

Candlelight Service:

At 8 p.m.  Our Traditional Christmas Holy Eucharist with music and candle lighting to welcome the great day of Christmas.
